1. Do you need special training to operate the DataVault X4?
   No. Ordinary computer skills are all that are necessary to operate this system.

2. What operating systems can be used on the DataVault X4?
   Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Linux, Unix, and Solaris 8 are all supported.

3. Does one domain have to be powered down prior to switching to another domain?
   No. A domain does not have to be powered down before switching to another.

4. Does the DataVault X4 share internal hardware devices between domains?
   No. There is no sharing of data between any internal hardware devices in this system.

5. What NIST/CCEVS Common Criteria rating can the DataVault X4 attain?
   The DataVault X4, with dedicated hardware devices, is NIST/CCEVS EAL 4 Certified, [NSA EAL5 pending]

6. What is the transition time between switching domains?
   The switching between domains is instantaneous. It literally takes one second.

7. Is the DataVault X4 capable of simultaneous view of both, classified and unclassified domains?
   Yes. The DataVaultX4 is certified for complete information flow protection thus allowing simultaneous view of both classifications.

8. Can the DataVault X4 be configured as a server?
   Yes. This system has the flexibility to be used as a small server.

9. What kinds of networks was the DataVault X4 designed to be used on?
  
The X4 was designed for NIPRNET and SIPRNET network classifications and higher.

10. What added features are optional on the DataVault X4?
    A biometric keyboard, fiber optic NICs, and Fortezza Smart Card® Drives are available.

11. Is the DatavaultX4 certified to allow classified and unclassified data processing simultaneously?
     Yes. The datavaultX4 is certified with complete information flow protection, allowing that.

12. Are all domains usable simultaneously with the dual or triple monitor configuration ?
     No. All domains are viewable but only one domain can be operated at a time.

13. Are all domains viewable on any other multi-network computer on the market today?
    No. The DataVault X4 is the first of its kind certified by NSA to have this feature and is listed on the web site under “Multi-Domain Solutions” and under “Access Control” certified products.

14. Do you have to have multiple software licenses for the OS on each domain?
    No. Since the language is written per seat and computer no multiple license is necessary.

15. Is the new technology in the DataVault X4 expensive?
    No. The DataVault X4 costs is comparable to that of two high-end personal computers.

16. Can data accidentally be transferred when switching between domains?
     No. Data remains separate on this system with dedicated RAM, CPUs, HDs, and motherboards.

17. Can an unauthorized user start the computer on the unsecured or secure domain?
    No. The front cover can not be opened and the computer can not be started without a key.

18. What is necessary for a user to access the DataVault X4?
  
  An authorized user needs a hardware access key to unlock the front cover of the computer and an electromechanical key to switch on the system in order to boot into the UNSECURE domain. The trusted user needs a SmartCard® for authentication and identification for further access into the SECURE domain(s).

19. Is the DataVault X4 available in a laptop?
    The DataVault X4 laptop version is currently under development.

20. Is the DataVault X4 available in any other cases other than a rack-mount case?
    Yes. The DataVault X4 is available in a mid-tower and desktop case configuration.

21. Is the DataVault X4 available in a TEMPEST configuration?
   
Yes. The DataVault X4 3-in-1 & 2-in-1 are available as a TEMPEST NSTISSAM 1-92 and 2-95 for an additional cost.

22. Is the DataVault X4 available in a “Thin-Client” version?                                                                 Yes, The DataVaultX4 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 are available in a “Thin-Client” versions without the Hard Drives, Read/Write devices and I/O ports.
